Tintaras Chandra – 16 hand Cremello, over 94% Thoroughbred, registered Stud Book Australian Stock Horse stallion, Foundation Stallion with AQHA, and registered with Dilutes Australia. (We intend to have him ACE and ANSA registered in the future). Chandra has been started under saddle and will be campaigned in dressage in 2010 onwards.
We purchased him from Tintaras Stud in WA where the breeding focus is on producing perfectly conformed and beautifully moving horses of perfect palomino coat colour. He is the ideal choice for those wanting to produce tall, elegant, big moving show, dressage or event horses of superb palomino coat colour - put your clean coated chestnut mares to him for your best chance of magnificent palomino performance horses. Bay, brown or black mares will have buckskin or palomino foals (these mares need to have a recessive chestnut gene in order to have palomino offspring). Dilute mares (Palomino, Buckskin, Cremello, Perlino) can have Cremello or Perlino foals.
Where our Quarter Horse boys made Australia recognise the potential of the blue eyed blondes, this ASH boy is going to bring back the magnificence of the great performance palominos – horses of height, elegance, correct conformation, great movement and the correct palomino coat colour as preferred by Palomino judges. His first filly, born 2008, out of a Thoroughbred mare, is close to ‘perfect coat colour’, has exceptional conformation and shows promise of growing to 17 hands (her dam is17 h).
We are most excited about the prospect of producing a line of 'perfect coat coloured palominos' that will redefine the future of palominos in Australia - great conformation, lovely temperament, superb potential as performance horses and the ideal palomino colour preferred by palomino judges.
Chandra is Stud Book Australian Stock Horse, and is an ideal cross for Stock Horse, Thoroughbred, Arabian & Quarter Horse mares, giving you access to the Cream dilute gene in a quality horse that is almost all Thoroughbred. He is Foundation Sire recorded with AQHA (FS 24219), so from mares registered as A1, A2, A3 and Q with AQHA, you can get A1 registered foals and he will be a lovely cross the ‘lighten up’ heavy mares, add height, add a good length of rein or shorten up long backs.
Amongst his foals due for 2010 is one out of our chestnut Chico Doro mare, Davelle Lady Kintore (the only living Q mare by the great Chico Doro) – this foal can only be Palomino, and it will be for sale: we expect this to be a great foal, to have Chandra as a sire and Chico Doro as a grandsire should make for an exceptional palomino horse.
